Trio Indigo was conceived by Leen Minten with the intent of exploring, through music, intangible links between two disparate cultures, those of Hindustan and West Africa. The group blends the uplifting sound of the kora, played by Bao Sissoko of Senegal, the soothing, sometimes haunting sounds of the bansuri and peul flutes of India and Africa, played by Erwin Van Gorp, and the driving, sonorous beats of the tabla, played by Leen Minten.
Trio Indigo launched a crowdfunding effort to make this, their first, recording. Even though the funds fell short of their target, they managed to lay down three original compositions. Thus, this small but unique collection is titled "Side A."
